The Thornton Cup starts in September and is to be completed by the end of January. Colours as indicated. Time control: 36 moves in 1 hour 12 minutes followed by an allegro finish of 15 minutes each. All games played at this time control will be submitted for grading. In the event of a drawn game, a second game will be played at the original rate, colours reversed. If further replays are needed they will be at the rate of 30 minutes each for all moves, colours alternating.
