Things didn't get off to a good start, as Stirling boards 2-5 started 11 minutes down on the clock due to late arrival. Neil, who did manage to turn up on time, was first to finish losing to Ian, but Jim quickly equalised with a win on board 2. I then won against Gordon, who only started playing chess again last month after a long break. With seconds to spare to make the time control, Steve blundered piece. This left Bill battling against Michael in a highly tactical game, which Bill ultimately lost.
