An exciting match which could have gone either way. Steve drew from a rook down (with a perpetual check that could only be stopped by giving back the rook, which would have left Steve up three pawns). I snatched a draw in time-trouble, by forcing perpetual check. Dave won a fine endgame against Ian. David apparently lost after being a rook up.
The first game below is my effort from board 3, where I had White against John Smith. I stopped recording at move 34, having less than five minutes left. 42 Qd3 was my saviour, if I didn;t have that it was certain defeat.
Anderson - Smith
The game below is from board 4, where Dave had White against Ian Mason.
Hewitt - Mason
The final game here is the board 2 clash between Dougie Will and Steve Smith, where perpetual check once again comes into play. Analysis from Steve.
Will - Smith
